Campbelltown City Council through Campbelltown Arts Centre in partnership with 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art and Sydney Festival has developed a three-year partnership project titled Edge of Elsewhere that brings together Sydney’s communities and artists from across Australia, Asia the Pacific to produce and present new artworks. Produced within a community engaged model of curatorial direction, these contemporary artworks—visual, interdisciplinary or performative in nature—are presented in annual exhibition outcomes as part of Sydney Festival’s program in 2010, 2011 and 2012. Significant yearly outcomes of the project include community workshops, public forums, and a publication. Edge of Elsewhere has been developed through additional partnerships with the Australia Council for the Arts, through Community Partnerships and the Visual Arts Board, and the NSW Government through Arts NSW.
