24/7 Youth Film Festival
Mosman Municipal Council (3 other projects)
Cultural Industries - Award Winner Division B
The 24/7 Youth Film Festival is a collaborative project between Mosman, Manly, Warringah, and Pittwater Council's which challenges young people to create a 7 minute short film over a 24 hour period. Participant teams are required to include a range of specific items, themes, locations and dialogue lines into their film which are revealed at the commencement of the 24 hour period. The festival incorporates a series of skills development workshops which enable young people with little to no film making experience to take part in the festival. Additionally the festival supports a team of young people with disabilities in developing a short film through a new initiative called "Reelability". All of the participant films are screened at local cinemas and a gala awards night is held annually to showcase the top ten films created making the 24/7 Youth Film Festival one of Australia's leading Youth Film Festival's.
