Gallery Connections is about connecting young people to the Gallery by providing alternate opportunities and projects where they work with professional artists developing their art making skills and discover talents they didn't even know existed.

The very first Gallery Connections program was a partnership between Griffith Regional Art Gallery and Griffith High School. Students who were at risk of or were disengaging from the education system visited the Gallery once a week for 10 weeks participating in visual art workshops with a professional artists discovering and developing their art making skills.

During the program students discovered hidden talents in drawing, painting, print making and discovered the importance of working in a team to create a collaborative artwork. Outcomes saw changes in behaviour, increase in attendance and the creation of bright fun colourful artwork which was exhibited at Art Space at Griffith Regional Theatre.
